“Raw Emotions”,

When people realize that I have stayed on a
100% Raw Food Diet for over 12 years, since switching overnight, they
frequently ask me, “How do you deal with family members and friends when
you go raw, without feeling like a total OUTCAST and
weirdo???!!!” My answer is… YOU DON’T!. I don’t mean to sound
like a ‘downer’, yet the truth of the matter is that if you choose this
lifestyle, the majority of the population will likely think you are
NUTS! Even when people just go on a vegan or vegetarian diet,
they often report feeling like an outcast. Now imagine only eating Raw
Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, and Seeds…while at the same time your
appearance is changing, which the majority overweight population may
interpret as ‘unhealthy weight loss’…

I never had any major
health challenges and 12 years ago I became a 100% Raw Food Eater
OVERNIGHT after reading Dr. Norman Walker’s book, ‘Become
Younger‘. I didn’t even know a Raw Food Diet existed at the time.
This book revealed to me that what I thought to be healthy foods, which I
was consuming, were actually truly damaging to my body. I read this book
in one night and went 100% Raw the next day. I was just a 24 year old kid
learning about health and trying to do the best for my body. I was
EXCITED about my discovery to say the least, and I had NO
IDEA about the reactions my loved ones were going to have…

Unexpectedly, I found that I started to feel like a TOTAL OUTCAST
with everyone I knew. With hindsight, I feel fortunate that I was not the
type of person who was willing to shape my personal life based on others’
expectations. In deep emotional pain, I left the area where I had lived
and started over again, totally on my own, without even one familiar face.
This is when I started my business and also learned about meditation.
Always an ‘extremist’ and alone for five years, I went deep into creating
our business here and also stayed in a meditative state perhaps almost as
much as a Buddhist monk. For these first five years I really felt like an
introvert and had very little contact with the outside world. From the
intensive meditations, I was healing and felt like I was becoming a ‘wiser’
person. However, this was all inward growth, my social skills were
depleting, and I had minimal contact with the outside world. I assume that
others felt uncomfortable to be around me at this time, as I felt
uncomfortable in my own skin when I was around others.

It wasn’t until five years after starting on this new
path that it felt like I started to finally grow outwardly too. It
all started when I began to let representatives of the conscious females of
this species into my life, which was the COMPLETE CATALYST for my
outward growth. This period of growth whilst dating these women was
painful for me. I learned that I was SOLELY responsible for any
energy and/or feeling that I experienced. I began to learn to become
social again, respect others, become courteous, and communicate with the
outside world. I learned to create boundaries and not be ‘walked on’ by
others (male or female) by speaking my COMPLETE truth, no matter how
uncomfortable it may feel… and then… three years later… I met my
wife-to-be, Angela Stokes-Monarch… This was truly the ICING on
the cake.

to weigh nearly 300 pounds. She lost more than half her body weight by
