Several years ago, I was wandering through the cosmetic section of a local department store. A major cosmetic company was introducing a new anti-aging cream and offering free samples. Because I had used their products before, I thought nothing of using the cream that night. When I woke up, my skin was as red as a radish! I was surprised. Why would my skin suddenly have such a strong reaction? I never had allergies to any cosmetic products before so I began to analyze the situation, in hopes of finding an answer.

Three weeks ago we started using your beauty cream and the facial brushing procedure (we are up to 60 seconds a day) and our skin is looking really good. Until I started your diet 6months ago I could not sit in the sun or even use filtered water on my face as it was red and rashy. When I began making my homemade cream, I still lived in Russia. I would always add Sea Buckthorn oil. It was discovered that the oil aided in the healing of skin damage from radiation or the sun, acne, skin ulcers, burns, irritated or dry itchy skin, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, and wounds. Even if a truly "all-raw" product could be formulated, it would have the same fate as the fruits or vegetables that sit in your refrigerator for more than a week. The product would have to be refrigerated, and even then, after a few days, mold would begin to grow, and it would not be safe to use. My dilemma was to formulate a good cream that would last. I certainly did not want to run to the kitchen to create a batch every time I needed moisturizer!

The goal was to find a preservative that would not harm your skin, would not introduce toxins into your body, and hopefully would be beneficial while at the same time prevent the risk of microbial contamination.

Capryloyl Glycine is the new preservative from Europe that I have chosen for my cream. Capryloyl Glycine is a lipoamino acid obtained by the grafting of a glycine onto an octanoic fatty chain. Glycine is an amino acid found in vegetables. The octanoic chain is commonly found in nature, primarily in coconut oil but also in other oils such as palm seed oil. Capryloyl Glycine also has skin protecting properties. Since I had to use a preservative, this is the one that is closest to nature that I believe exists.

Tonya, I purchased your BR Facial Cream about a month and a half ago, and am so happy to finally have a product that nourishes my super dry skin.
