These Macadamias are fresh and still in shell. Eat them directly out of the shell or use them in your favorite recipe. Either way, we guarantee that it will be 100% FRESH!

Macadamia nuts have one of the hardest shells in the world. There are only three ways in which one can reasonably crack a macadamia nut at home. You can use a hammer, a fitters or carpenters vice grip pliers, or a commercial grade nut cracker designed specifically for macadamia nuts like the one we offer here:

This extremely hard shell also plays a part in the high cost of macadamia nuts. It is extremely difficult to crack open the shell without breaking the nut inside. This also is why macadamia nuts found in the shell are anywhere from forty to eighty percent cheaper than shelled kernels.

Macadamia nuts are an excellent source of iron, calcium, vitamin B, and phosphorus. Although they contain 73-80% fat, the fat is mono-saturated or "good" and as acceptable as olive oil in many diets. Although macadamias have many healthful properties, their unusually rich flavor, crunch, and commingling with chocolate in a bounty of forms make them favorites among gourmets and snackers alike.
