Jing Herbs is dedicated to proactive, protective, and preventative health care. We believe toxins must be eliminated from the body before they have an opportunity to do harm. While the liver, kidneys, skin, and intestinal tract are all organs of detoxification, the liver is the primary agent of this process. Restore the Liver is formulated to assist all the organs of detoxification; however, the major emphasis is on liver support.
The liver employs several pathways and phases in its detoxification process. First, the liver cleanses an astounding 2 quarts of blood per minute, neutralizing environmental, metabolic, bacterial, and other toxic substances. Secondly, it produces bile that acts as a carrier agent for the toxins, which is then deposited into the intestines to be absorbed by fiber and safely evacuated from the body through the colon. And finally, the liver employs a bi-phasic enzymatic process to either neutralize (phase I) or modify (phase II) toxins.
Restore the Liver is a powerful anti-hepatoxic synergistic blend of Chinese herbs and antioxidants that help to support liver function and detoxification. The Chinese herbal blend that is the foundation of Restore the Liver is a modified classic formula that first appeared in the Shang Han Lun of the Eastern Han dynasty. Its primary function is to harmonize and protect the qi and blood of the liver. It features the following herbs to support liver function and cleansing.
Schisandra fruit is one of the primary longevity, anti-aging, and health promoting herbs in the Chinese herbal pharmacopoeia. It is an adaptogen that is revered as a brain, sexual energy, and beauty tonic. But one of its most powerful attributes is its ability to keep the liver healthy and protect it from toxic damage and inflammation (hepatitis). The hepato-protective function of Schisandra is attributed to the alteration of the liver cell membrane permeability to prevent the entry of toxic substances.
Astragalus root is considered one of the most important tonic herbs in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an adaptogen that increases enegy and strengthens the immune system. It also has liver protecting properties as well as anti-viral and anti-inflammatory effects. The saponin fraction of Astragalus has shown hepato-protective properties.
Bupleurum root has the distinction of being the most frequently used herb for liver detoxification in China. It is the primary herb in countless formulas for support of liver function and detoxification.
Chinese White Peony root is a prized liver supporting herb of the Orient that nourishes blood, relaxes muscles, and helps to purify the blood.
Isatis root and Scutellaria baicalensis root are powerful anti-viral herbs that help keep the liver protected from pathogenic agents that can contribute to liver inflammation (hepatitis).
Chinese Licorice root is known to safely cleanse the body of toxins without any uncomfortable side effects. It also serves to "harmonize" herbal formulas and make them more effective as it enters all 12 meridians of the body.
Chinese Salvia root is important as it helps to cool the blood and ameliorate inflammatory conditions in the liver (hepatitis). Part of the hepato-protective function of Salvia is due to its effect at improving blood circulation and promoting regeneration of liver cells.
Curcuma has been used for hundreds of years in both Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese herbalism to support healthy liver function and detoxification. It is a powerful antioxidant as well.
Because free radicals are produced by the liver during the detoxification process, antioxidants play a critical role in assisting liver detoxification in both phase I and phase II.
Milk Thistle, N-Acetyl-Cysteine, Alpha lipoic acid, and Curcuma are all powerful antioxidants that have been selected for HepaPack because of their ability to support liver function in all its phases of detoxification. They all help to address liver distress, including inflammation (hepatitis).
Milk Thistle is a safe and natural herb for support of liver function. It contains a family of flavonoids known as Silymarins that supports liver function by raising levels of glutathione, an important antioxidant for liver function. Silymarins occupy receptor sites on the membranes of the liver cells, making them less permeable to toxic invasion. If toxic invasion occurs, Silymarins send chemical messages to stimulate protective enzymatic and protein production.
N-Acetyl-Cystine (NAC) is a precursor in the production of glutathione, the body’s own antioxidant. In its antioxidant capacity, glutathione effectively transforms and neutralizes free radicals produced by the liver’s own detoxification process.
Alpha Lipoic Acid is another powerful antioxidant that helps the formation of glutathione and supports the detoxification activities of the liver. Both fat and water soluble, it neutralizes free radicals both inside and outside cell walls. It is also a powerful network antioxidant which helps recycle Vitamin C, CoQ10, glutathione, and Vitamin E, all of which the liver utilizes for rendering toxins harmless.
