The pineapple plant, or Ananas comosus, is a tropical plant that's widely cultivated throughout the tropics. The fruit of the pineapple plant is a pineapple, and you can serve it in a variety of ways. Canned pineapple is popular throughout the year, and fresh pineapple may be commercially available. Dried pineapple has a very high sugar content, which keeps the fruit safe from spoilage.

Calories

The nutritional content of dried pineapple does not depend on the brand or manufacturer. This information therefore applies equally well to all brands of dried pineapple. The serving size is 1 oz. of dried pineapple with no other ingredients. A serving of dried pineapple contains approximately 69 total calories, according to Fat Secret.
