    Q: We notice that you use vegetable magnesium stearate. Isn't that harmful?

    A: I've heard that there is some controversy about vegetable magnesium stearate but so far, none of the negative claims have actually been proven yet (there is no scientific backing to it, just some claims). NOW Foods actually has a good page on the subject, this is the link.

    In any case, the amount of vegetable magnesium stearate in the spirulina tablets is very insignificant, about 1/10th of 1%. If this was to cause any known harm or negate the benefits of spirulina, we would choose to use something else.
